Growler with huge thanks to agent zigzag! Pours opaque black with a small brown head and decent lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roasty, vanilla, oak, a bit of ash, bourbon. Flavor is light to medium sweet, medium bitter, rich and roasty with vanilla prominent and bourbon taking more of an accent note. Medium plus body, creamy mouthfeel. Really a nice beer. It was a bit hot from that 11.5% ABV, but not off-putting by any means.

Growler, thanks to agent zigzag! Pours deep clear ruby black with a small tan head and some lacing. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, mocha, deep roasted malts. Flavor is rich mocha, light sweet and light bitter, touch of vanilla for good measure. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation. A darn good beer that I bet is even better fresh off the tap.

Poured up on tap at Wilderness where it has a clear copper to amber body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up smooth soft sweet earthy dates, some caramel like malts, smooth almost neutral sweetness and then an unmistakable honeycomb wax sensation. The taste is similar and I was expecting it to be much thicker and with more residual sugars but that’s not what I’m getting. It has smooth supple date earthy sweetness and thin caramel malt like notes rolling into a thin raspberry juice sensation mixed with honey sweetness and hints of wax near the finish. It isn’t at all thin but it is balanced in sweetness and faint tannic tartness and has a pleasing body. Even though it’s not over the top or bursting with flavor notes there’s still plenty going on here to make it a nice sipper. Fun beer er braggot er mead er something.

Growler thanks to agentzigzag! Pours hazy butterscotch with a small off-white head that dissipates pretty quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is definitely spruce, a bit of citrus, forest floor. Flavor has a hint of initial sweetness, pine sap, light tartness going on as well, and tones of pine notes throughout, with a bit of lemon. Light plus bitter, but not particularly harsh. Medium body, creamy, low carbonation. Interesting for sure.

CBC Session 4. Light haze on this deep amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and dry and a little crisp. Sweetish malts, but thin. The PVW is spicy but not overwhelming. Light touch of dried fruits leads to a light dry finish. Nice, but not so good it needs to be named twice.
