Cask gravity at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. Lovely hops. Pink grapefruit. Good mouth feel really dry finish. Lovely beer. Superb. I didn’t do this justice when I was in the pub. It’s terrific. Just a lovely pink grapefruit aroma, balancing malt and then this dry pink grapefruit hoppy finish. I took it over the Burning Sky Plateau which was on, it was that good.

Cask. Appearance is very dark brown, lighter tinges at the base, a light brown foamy head. Lots of chocolate, hint of cocoa in the aroma. Chocolatey taste, dark malts, hint of liquorice, dried fruit. Good.

Bottle at the Barton Arms; hazy amber pour with a creamy light tan head, malt aroma, taste has caramel, some light marmalade, hint of bitterness, pleasant enough english pale.

Cask gravity Berry Walmer. Now that is good. Thats pretty malty but lovely. Very good brown ale.

@Indyman - Hazy dark blond. No head. Aroma and flavour have lots of orange citrus peel. Quite this and watery.

Cask at Wallington 2014. It pours hazy deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is soft, roasty, chocolate, salty liquorice, unami and earthy. The taste is smooth, toasty, earth, watery aspect, liquorice, ash and dark fruit and some astringency with a dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Too thin unfortunately. So-so.

Cask gravity at Wallington 2014. It pours cloudy mahogany brown with a decent bubbly beige head. The nose is piney, resinous, red grapefruit, jammy fruit and light caramel. The taste is pretty bitter, earthly, resin, some astringency, varnish, jammy fruits with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice punchy hops and tasty jammy character.

Cask. Pours quite a dark amber, no head at all. Aromas of malt, rasiny, hint of burnt toast, sugary. Malty taste, bitter finish, medium mouthfeel, undercurrent of dark fruit.

Cask (handpump) @ Tap East Pub & Brewery, The Great Eastern Market, Westfield Stratford City, Stratford, Greater London, England E20 1ET. [ As Pig & Porter Penhurst Pale Ale ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, citrus, lemon. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, zest bitter, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140416]
