*complemented Also, rye pilsner? Heh. Bottle. Pale gold, slightly hazy with a white head. Herbal lemon, grapefruit and cracker aroma with some floral, spicy and gooseberry notes. Interesting - the first half of a swig is clean with floral and light citrusy hops, then rye spiciness rushes in. The finish is dry and moderately bitter; and after building, the rye departs again. Very nice, best Edge beer so far.

Bottle, 11C. (bottle says ABV is 7.5%) Unclear pale amber with a small white head. Aroma has oranges, menthol, tinned passionfruit. Lowish carbonation, oily. Sweet with oranges, sherbet, hay, some tropical fruit. Pine and pepper build towards a bitter finish I found slightly harsh.

On tap at Tom Taylors. Floral, floral, floral. That’s the aroma, the taste and the overall vibe of this lager. It’s a great take on this typically tired and unadventurous staple. It forces one to recontemplate the beer style and life more generally. It’s cool and it’s hoppy, but without any jarring bitterness.

From a 330ml bottle on 15/4/2015. Pours a very dark amber with a smallish head. The nose features a modest light caramel malt. In the mouth, there’s quite a lot going on. Lots of chocolate, cocoa, some coffee, salted caramel, roasted malt and some biggish lingering hops. medium bodied, with average carbonation. This is actually a rather good and quite unusual stout. Very well done.
