Bottle from Kaufland, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. Consumed at home Thursday 6th May 2021 listening to 93 Million Miles From The Sun - Why Do We Fall Apart. Pours gold with a white head, good clarity. For a Helles, that I understand is now brewed elsewhere,.... Herrnbrau? this isn't too shabby, light fruity edge, pleasant hoppiness edge, light bitterness, a little grainy, malt, good carbonation.

Bottle from Kaufland, Ingolstadt, Bayern and consumed at home Thursday 22nd April 2021 listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music we have the Aubergine rolls with Ricotta and in a Tomato Sauce tea tonight. Pours gold with a slight haze, soft mouthfeel, sprightly carbonation, causing a few burps, light hoppiness. It's good, well fine, needs a little more going on to pull me in though.

Can, 0.50l. Aroma of caramel, dandelion syrup, flowers, bread and herbs. Pours clear mahogany color with thin creamy light brown head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet caramel and dried fruit, follows by dandelion syrup, toasted malt and herbs, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Decent dunkel...

Bottle online from Beersofeurope. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head (fast dissipating). Low carbonation. Aromas of grains, hay and bread. Taste has added notes of floral and a little honey. Medium to full body with a smooth oily mouthfeel. Ok but not great.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish tan had that fades quite slowly. Aroma of bright caramelised sugars with a good dose of nuts, earth, candy, toasted malt, figs and pitted fruits - very nice in the nose and a welcome departure from the pale lagers that I have been drinking recently (Advent Calendar). Medium-bodied; Assertive cereal and toasted malt grainy notes with some earthiness, a lot of caramelised sugars and toffee with a slight nutty flavours towards the end, but the balance is struck right. Aftertaste shows a lot of sweetness and a nice fruity quality from the figs and prunes with some slight earthy and nuttiness that gives the malt a nice perspective and no hops or bitterness to speak of. Aftertaste shows some balanced malt with a lot of sweetness and earthy notes with a good nutty quality and some light rustic coffee flavours towards the very end, but quite mild. Overall, a nice rich dunkles with a lot of earthy and fig qualities along with some slight nuttiness and a crisp toasted grains. Nice to sample and a good option if you wanted a break from pale beers while in Germany. I sampled this 50 cL can, purchased as part of the Costco 2020 Advent Calendar, from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, sampled in my hotel room here in New York, New York on 18-December-2020.

Super clear golden coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall pure white head that fades relatively quickly and just leaves a super thin pure white head on top. Aroma of crisp grain with a light dose of citrus and flowers along with some light sweetness and a touch of cleanser noticeable, but the crisp malts and lighter yeast notes are noticeable. Light-bodied; Very strong and super crisp grassy notes show through, along with some yeast, bread and light lemon flavours show through without much else, aside from a crisp and biting finish. Aftertaste shows the very malty, grainy and herbal notes with some yeast and breadiness and finishes with a dry and quite bitter metallic and citrusey set of flavours, but still, relatively mild and light throughout. Overall, a decent enough helles with some crisp lager yeast, dry flowers and a soft grainy profile throughout. Not a great beer, but not a horrible beer either - somewhere closer to the middle. I sampled this 50 cL can, from Day #15 of the Costco 2020 Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia sampled at my house here in Washington on 15-December-2020.

Pretty crisp, and nice overall. Good grain, easy drinking. Like the note of sharp bitterness. Golden pour with good head and lacing. Crisp bitter end. Very nice stuff. Can.
