Sampled from 12 fl oz bottle courtesy of Marsiblursi. Dark brown color, thick beige head. Hoppy and alcohol scent, still fresh. Sweet taste with lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel with low bitterness initially.

Draught pint at Redbones on 7/11/06.
Absolutely, starkly clear with a very light, pale-straw color. Head is initially large, pure white and very foamy, eventually receding to partial cover, with some light lacing. Not all that much carbonation flowing about, certainly a significantly less amount than any macro lager.
The nose, at first, comes alive with crisp saaz-like hoppiness. A bit of light fruitiness and hints of herbs. Soft and aromatic, it slowly allows the yeast to creep in. A bit of vanillin is light, with hints of corn-like biproducts (don’t actually think I smell the corn notes from the actual corn). I’d say it has about a low to moderate yeast bite for a lager, though the yeast is certainly full and easy to detect.
In the flavor, the yeast really plays a major role. Some light minerals, a hint of paperiness and soft, highly attenuated malt. Maybe a touch of corn-meal-like flavors mixed in with a hint of honey. Just the barest trace of green apples and less hops in the flavor than in the aroma (though more bitterness on the end). You can certainly taste the macro-like pale lager yeast. Kind of reminds me of drinking PBR or some mid-tier macro lager, but without any of the cheap, corny/syrupy finish. Very clean.
Obviously a true German lager yeast would be preferred, but that wasnt the goal here and I can respect that. Drinkable and highly refreshing, I found it to be quite successful.

Bottled 12/11/05 Nose is of caramel, with malts, and dark fruit note. Hazy, amber-red with a small off-white head; flavor is of caramel, not too sweet with some hoppy bitterness, and a little of the 11% (as per the label) alcohol leaving a nice alcohol finish with an oaky tone along with the alcohol.
