12 oz Bottle. Pours out a nice yellow. Topped off with a tall white head. That last and last. There is some grass and a nice malt.

12 oz bottle. Bottled Dec 06 05. Pours a slightly hazy gold into a tulip. Off-white micro head with good retention and thick, uniform lacing as it recedes. Lemon, yeast and earth notes. Upfront sweet spices with a lasting sweet alcohol finish.

Bottle. Great beer. But oh so tough to get through quicky due to the hops. It tastes like I chewed a bunch of hops all at once. Other than that, if drunk slowly, it’s great.

Bottle. Nice subdued American version of a wit. Smell is a bit of orange and lemon. Pours golden with just a little haze, and one or two floaties. One finger head that dies off quickly. Taste has that usual ’nanner and clove character. A bit of brett sourness, methinks, and then an impression of salt. Seems to be a bit off, or I just don’t know my wits.

[Re-rate - original from 2006 - okay, the 2006 me was a dumbshit - this beer is awesome - light and crisp, with a distinct, musky pineapple Brett character, along with other mild phenols - dusty yeast - very tasty] Cloudy golden color, with very small, soapy-looking head that disappears after a short while - aroma of banana, lemon zest, belgian candy sugars and earthy yeast tones - tingly carbonation (almost too much so) - tangy lemon and orange flavors, followed by some banana and honey, finishing with a mild sour/tartness - a little thin near the finish - quite drinkable, but not as strong an offering as Victory used to make - really quite uninteresting for the style - I’ve come to expect palate-confounding saisons like Fantome makes - this beer is like a prudish girlfriend; sure, it’s interesting at first, when you’re getting to know it, but after only a short while you start longing for something to add some SPICE to your experience.

Thanks to Argo0 for this one! Caramel brown body with a touch of haze under a choppy, tall, light tan head that sticks to the sides on the way down. Bready malt aroma. A touch of unpeeled cold bananas. Sweet with just a bit of hop bitterness at the end of the finish. Good body, but nothing really exciting overall.

Clear golden color with a thin frothy white head. Sweet grain and light hops aroma. Sweet malt, caramel, and grass flavor.

Aroma of caramel and malt; standard for a bock. Quickly fading head. Dark brown with light red tint. Medium sweet and herbal dryness. Medium body and bread in the aftertaste. Near the top of its style, but it can’t touch Optimator or Salvator.
