Poured into a tumbler. Looks like urine. Light yeast aromas. Sweet and lemony with a dry lingering fizzy finish. Tastes better than it looks. Good lawnmower beer.

Trade bonus courtesy of JHop. Thanks, Jeremy. Opaque ebony with a small orangish tan head. Aroma is hoppy with chocolate tones and a little bit of plum. Flavor is smoky chocolate-coffee malts with hoppy bitterness for the finish. the flavors hide the alcohol well.

bottle sample at Dark Lord Day - Pours pale gold with a thin head. The aroma is very light with a hint of citrus. The flavor is sweet and malty with light citrus and alcohol notes creeping in. It’s pretty good, but not very interesting. rerate in May 2010 from 800 degrees - Aroma of pale malt, light hops. Taste is sweet, biscuit accented malt, light to moderate bitterness, and a touch of fruit. 7/3/7/4/14.

bottle sample at Dark Lord Day - Pours dark brown with a caramel malt nose. It tastes of light roasted malt, kind of sweet, and has some alcohol presence. The finish is lightly hoppy.

Sampled at 3Floyds Dark Lord Day. Nice foamy pour atop an appealing dark body. Guess I’d just call it a good "dark beer" smell, malty rich, and free of distractions. Taste is light toasted malts, with caramel and just a bit of porter malts, all well balanced with strong German hops, a bit spicier than usual. Hints of smooth ale taste.

Growler brought by Mullman (i think, woops, I mean TrojanHorse Troy... nice) to Dickinsonbeer’s Pre-TAP gathering, thanks. Pours a clear golden, can see through the beer. A present aroma, get some sweetness behind the pilsner aroma. Body is medium, not much distinct taste. Coats the tongue a bit with a bit of bitterness at the end.

Cloudy straw colour. Dusty, spicy (anise), fruity (pear) aroma. Spicy flavour of hay, fresh bread, peach and pear, yeast (old barn) and a big rock after the rain. It’s fairly relaxed and unassertive about all of this. It’s confident and pretty and all that white picket fence stuff. That’s the main flaw, really. All the cool saisons evoke things that don’t make sense, so it’s got that, but it lacks the rusticity of the best examples. A great intro saison but I prefer more esoteric examples.
