Description
We started brewing in Burton-Upon-Trent in 1834. Then in 1898 we got itchy feet. So we moved down the road to the Albion brewery. We still like it so we’ve not moved again since.
We came to Burton for the water. Well, for the rocks the town was built on to be precise. The water trickles down through a thick layer of gypsum before we bring it back up again through our well. That’s what gives our beers the depth of flavour, character and crisp refreshing bitterness that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Old rating from 10-09-15 - 500ml bottle, pours a dark caramel brown colour with a light beige head. Aromas of fruity caramel with hops. Tastes of malty sweetness, fruits, berries and caramel with the alcohol content coming though a little. Aftertaste is quite warming with a bittersweet fruity finish.

500ml bottle from Local Shop. Gluten Free version of Wainwright Gold. Golden blonde colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of malt, grain, fruity. Taste is sweet malty, grainy, bready, some lemon, and tangy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bitter finish. Quite OK.

cask@Charlies bar, Copenhagen - Dark golden pour colour with a good white head. Caramel malts, with boozy hoppy notes mixed in, some yeast, grass, woody nuances. Kind of a weird mouthfeel/texture to this, not a massive fan of this overall.
