Pours deep amber into snifter. Off-white conglomerate head with excellent retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Orange citrus and yeasty hay aromas. Dry with caramel and bread upfront turning to dough before a lasting pine and citrus finish.

Hazy caramel with a white head. Sweet malts, molasses, piney and citrus hops in the aroma. Big, chewy caramel malts, pine, citrus, toasted malt, bread, too. It is a big beer, no doubt. But, it is not one of those un-approachable beers, either. While I wouldn’t say it stands out from the world of good DIPAs, it is one of the good ones.

2007 Edition poured into a pint glass sampled 5/16/2008. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a rocky off white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is all malt. I pick up a bready caramely sweet aroma. The taste follows the smell. Mouthfeel certainly is creamy and smooth. Body seemed a bit thin to me. Not a bad brew. I don’t think I would seek it out again, but definitely drinkable.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 1/25/11
Aroma: The nose is fruity and hoppy, citrus, pine, and caramel malts
Appearance: This one pours a dark mahogany color with a small off-white head
Flavor: There's some balance to the flavor with sweet maltiness and hoppy bitterness too
Palate: A medium-full bodied beer with soft carbonation, some decent heat, and a fairly long finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty hop forward Barley Wine. I did describe it as fairly balanced because of the sweetness that is clearly there, but this one is still hop leaning in this style. There's a good amount of booze in here too, but I think this one works pretty well.

22 oz bottle. The pour is a very cloudy pale yellow with a small soapy white head. Head left small spotty lacing in my Weizen glass. Pleasing aroma of wheat, yeast, and many different spices: The taste is much the same, (mostly coriander) with a light bitter after taste, plus a hint of pepper at the end as well. The mouthfeel is light. It is fairly true to the style. It’s like drinking and remembering a small piece of the summer. I would most definately buy again.

bottle at Morrie’s tasting(12Nov10)pours dark brown to black with a medium tan head. Aroma is earthy with oak and moldy wood notes, squash and pumpkin pie spices. Flavor is pumpkin pie, some oak and maple, honey and an extremely dry earthy finish.

Clear dark brown with an off-white head. Not much aroma, just a slight malt based sweetness to the aroma which is repeated in the flavor. Not bad, just way below the other Barleywines out there.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a brownish red with an off-white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was a combination of pine and dark grains which took more of a backing role. Flavor was similar with a starting pine note that mellowed to a dark grain and bread finish.
