Bottle at a tasting. Overall character is rather lacking in my opinion. Both malts and yeasty spice present, but both in kind of castrated no-ball version. I do not get the barrels at all to be honest. Full body, rather low carbonation. Not bad, but could offer so much more with its description.

Creamy tan head stayed on a rich dark oak body. Liquorice, malt & dark fruit aroma. Medium bodied, creamy & light on the palate. Dark berries, sweet citrus, fruit juice, demerara, dried fruit & malt tastes. Very little alcohol presence - dangerous!

(Draught at Gollem, Antwerpen, 18 Oct 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, liquorice, anise, dark fruit, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Malty taste with notes of caramel, liquorice, anise, dark chocolate, herbs, burnt sugar and a mild herbal bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, complex and powerful. Still very well balanced. Very nice.

Dark murky brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of caramel malt notes. Smooth and easy to drink.

Donkerbruin bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet en licht kruidig met iets van anijs, honing en rozijnen. Fijn bier.
