Bottle. Hazy amber/brown body with a thick beige head. Steady carbonation. Fluffy lacing marks. Aroma of wood, earth and honey. Flavour of weak tea, tangy orange and herbal hints. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Delicate and easy drinking.

On tap at Merton Winter BF 2016. Hazy gold amber lasting white head. Leafy hoppy aroma. So leafy so good. Beer of the festival. Big tangerine and grapefruit. Lovely leafy pink grapefruit superb.

Old Fountain. Cask. As Cloudwater Pale, 3.9%. Lightly hazy yellow - gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has modest fine carbonation. Slightly grainy pale malts. Bitter floralness. Decent yellow grapefruit and pith. Light semi dry finish. Not bad.

Old Fountain. Cask. Clear dark red - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, some roasty presence. Tangy ripe fruits before a dry roasty finish. Mild roasty bitter linger. It’s okay.

Keg at mother kellys. Opaque dark brown black coloured pour with a thin lasting light tan head. Aroma is BIG diesel, dank hop, pine, kerosene. Little brown toasted Malts. Very interesting. Flavour is composed of brown bread, slightly tangy, choc and dank hop, little grain. I dig it. Palate is medium light, powdery, highish carbonation

25th Feb 2016 at The Shrewsbury Beer Club tutored tasting evening. My first ever ’Lichtenhainer’ (I think). Cloudy straw colour with a wispy white head. Smoky Bacon Crisps on the nose, sour and tart feel to the taste. Preferred the aroma to the taste. Not really my thing sour beers. Scored kindly!
