Gravity cask at Whitfest 2025. A really lovely pint, flavour, mouth feel and a richness that created a brilliant package. It was so good I had to have another one.

House bitter at my village pub and a classic example of a true English Bitter. Gorgeous colour in the glass and a fine, yet simple head. Lots going on in the mouth, with plenty of malt and bittering hope, plus the great house yeast. And all this with a sensible abv. I could drink this all night and that's the point.

31/5/2024. From cask at the 37th Colchester Real Ale and Cider Festival. Pours clear dark amber bronze with a small bubbly off-white head. Good looking beer. Aroma is malty, fruity, citrus, hops, grapefruit, marmalade, caramel. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, touch tart. Moderate body, oily, average carbonation. Slight tangy bitterness to finish.

Cask at the Golden Lion, Rochford on 8th December 2023. Deep brownish copper with almost no foam or lace. Malty aroma. Sweet fruits and caramel malts in-mouth An apple touch. A finish dominated by sweet caramel malt. Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle from St Albans beer shop, St Albans, Herts. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee taste/aroma. A pleasant enough stout.

Cask at Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Pours clear dark chesnut brown with a beige foam. Super malty, some toffee, nuts, hedgerow fruits. Light sweet & light to moderate bitter. Dry palate. Medium body with fine carbonation.
