Bouteille 341ml, courtoisie de SlovakSniper. De couleur brune-cuivrée et claire. Nez malté de caramel aux petites notes rôties, léger de houblon terreux et légèrement herbeux avec des notes fruitées (prunes, traces de pommes rouges), de noix et biscuits à la mélasse. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture moyennement crémeuse et aux faibles notes huileuses. Léger goût fruité (prunes, traces de pommes) accompagné de notes de grains de malt rôtis lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût malté de caramel tofffee ainsi que des notes de biscuits à la mélasse. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve une moyenne amertume asséchante de houblon herbeux et légèrement terreux jusqu’en finale, accompagné d’un léger goût de noix. Post-goût moyen et un peu sec, moyennement amer de houblon herbeux et légèrement terreux ainsi qu’un léger goût de noix, des petites notes rôties et fruitées (pelures de prunes).

Bottle thanks to savvy1982 (the bottle says to drink fresh but has no discernible best by date on it). Pours with a bronze to brown body and a slightly off-white head that fades rather rapidly. Pretty dark compared to a lot of other ESBs out there. Aroma is bready, dry, sweet grain, cereal, nuts. The grain smell is sweet and smells like mashing in on most brewdays. A touch of molasses and dusty chocolate. Flavors are dry, a bit too roasty (for the style and my tastes, it ends up a bit acrid), caramel, nuts. Bitter. Abrupt finish. Medium bubbles. Pretty dry.

Originally rated April 2005. Thanks to Robert Mayr for this big 650ml brown bottle of pale ale, straight from Nova Scotia. Pours a light golden-amber colour with a nice big tanned head. Retention is quite good for a pale ale, and lacing is great. Carbonation is minimal. The scent is fresh with malt and samples of honey. The mouthfeel is dry and smooth. Taste of hoppy bitterness with a bread finish. Excellent refreshing session brew... can’t wait to taste their porter.

Bottle: Poured a dirty and hazy beige/yellow color ale with a super huge foamy white head with great retention and very good lacing. Aroma of wheat malt with light cloves notes. Taste is quite refreshing though dryer then the style usually suggest with nice cloves notes and no bubblegum notes that the style usually suggest. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Well done though it lacks some character and ester that I usually associate with the style.

A hazy golden weizen with a thick white head. Aroma of mineral banans, some tingling spice notes, berries. In mouth, a good malt base with light German hops, bananas, creamy mouthfeel, pretty decent. Bottle bought at brewery, tasted Oct. 11 2009.

A golden pils with a thick white head. A perfumey malt aroma, with light cinnamon and nutmeg notes. In mouth, a nice crisp malt with light mineral notes, crisp and smooth, a bit harsh and grainy. Medium bodied. On tap at Hart and Thistle, Oct. 12 2009.

Bottle: Poured a gold color ale with a medium white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of medium sweet malt with some dry floral hops presence. Taste is also dominated by nice fresh medium sweet malt with a nice dry Saaz finish. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation. Refreshing and easily drinkable with maybe a tad too much malt which limit my consumption when I would be willing to drink more on a hot sumer day.
