Description
The Gueuzerie Tilquin began operations in February 2009. It was 12 years that a new gueuze-producer had emerged in Brabant (the previous was Geuzestekerij De Cam in Gooik, which began in 1997).

The Gueuzerie Tilquin is the first gueuze blendery in Wallonia. The company is located in Bierghes (Rebecq), 200 meters from the linguistic border, and is directed by Pierre Tilquin. Pierre is bio-engineer and holder of a PhD in statistical genetics. He then followed an intensive course in brewing science in Leuven, and he had his experience at the brewery Huyghe (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel) and Cantillon (Anderlecht).

Funky and musty with some sourness, blue cheese, green apples, tartness and hints of earthiness. Soft and a bit stuffy. Okay, but perhaps slightly past its prime

Bottle, 2022-2023 bb 23/11/2032. Color: Hazy orangish golden, stable white head. Aroma: Tart, fruity, funky. Taste: Over moderate tart, light bitterness, hints of sweetness. Fruity notes of gooseberry, grapes, some lemon and hints of orange peel. Clearly present yet subtle Farmyard funk. Some wood, tannins. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Some hints of vinegar. Medium body, below average carbonation. Well balanced, nice complexity.

Hazy, medium brown colour. Toasty, light blackcurrant character. Sharp acidity. Not really my vibe.

Интересный ламбик, но в аромате больше какао зерен чем во вкусе, кислота в меру, может немного не хватает глубины только.

375mL bottled Feb 7, 2024, drunk Aug 28, 2025.
Clear brass with a large, very-well-retained, white head.
Musty cellar, mild cherry-apple, mild Brett. Extremely round and soft. Too gentle. Bordering saccharine and pablam-like.
Getting pretty tired of these Boon-like Tilquins. I don't drink lambic to drink shitty Boon, so hopefully Tilquin gets their act together (the fruited stuff is usually pretty good, still fairly acidic).
But this is like a bad Boon Gueuze. Soft, saccharine, heavy apple, powdered sugar. Very low acidity, no barrel. No funk.
