Cette Death Crush est loin d’être convaincante. Et pourtant elle possède de bonnes qualités d'arômes de café et chocolat pleins, de bonnes corpulences et longueurs et un alcool à 9,5%. Tout cela est malheureusement gâché par des arômes complémentaires de baies, réglisse, caramel et herbes formant un cocktail aromatique ne fonctionnant pas (ce qui me fait me demander le type d'houblons utilisés), une amertume à 66 d'EBU trop poussée ainsi qu'une effervescence trop importante. Le visuel est sur un noir total surmonté d'une mousse brune et crémeuse de 5 mm. Au nez, on retrouve l'alliance très particulière décrite précédemment. On peut également noter une petite pointe acide. L'attaque, perturbée par l'effervescence et avec une amertume trop sur les devants, présente tout de même une bonne complexité avec des arômes de café, chocolats, baies, caramel, épices et caramel. La seconde bouche voit quant à elle la réglisse et des arômes d'herbes prendre un peu plus les devants. L’arrière-bouche, plus poivrée a une excellente prise en bouche. Le final est quant à lui long et vivace mais toujours sur cette alliance peu convaincante.

44 cl. can @ home, bought @ Una Mas, Nieuwegein. Black with a beige head. Roasted malts and lots of coffee. Taste is sweet with a bitter coffee undertone. I do like some coffee in my stout but this one is a bit overdone in my opinion. It's like drinking a pint of cold carbonated black coffee.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Beer in the glass zippy, nice small head. Fine hoppy-fruity aroma like lemon. Starts fine hoppy, dry, bitter background. Some fruity notes of lemon, some grapefruit. Finish dry and bitter. Not bad.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 19. Brought by me, bought at Bierhalle Deconinck. Pours black, off white head. Woody smoky rye nose. Smoky, woody, twiglets to taste with a light bourbon tickle, has real balance and finesse for such a whopping strength. Excellent.
