From a 22 oz bottle shared at Ryan’s. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of lightly charred whiskey barrels. Flavors of smoke, oak and some chocolate and coffee. Viscous mouthfeel. Nice.

Pours a dark red/brown body with a two finger white foamy head, foamy lacing is left in the wake but spider webs adequately; smell has a sharp sweet caramel (whoah, interesting, wasn’t expecting that), slightly herbal and earthy; the taste is very sweet, perhaps a bit over the top on the sweetness level, deep caramel yet also a weird plum aftertaste (weird, not sure how desirable this is, at least to me), dry finish; palate is light to medium, somewhat sessionable, carbonation seems ok for the style and good for me; overall: a very caramel forward American Amber/Red Ale, wow, holy caramel beer, not sure if I would have this again....

Bomber. Pours inky black with a long-sustaining tan head; leaves some drippy lace. Aroma consists of smoked meats, tobacco, bread, anise, chocolate. Taste is sweet and smoky, finishing bitter. Smoke isn’t extreme, just noticeable. Carbonation fairly soft, body full. Really tasty and a huge improvement over the last two smoked beers I’ve had recently.

Bottle: Poured a thick black oil with tan light brown head. Aroma is smoke and malts. Taste is a smoke burnt forward but subsides to bring in a roasted maltiness.
