Opaque orange coloured body, filmy layer, scattered lacing. Modest smell of strawberries, mid-dry. Moderate taste profile of strawberries, ripe lemon and lactose. Sweet and tart ending. Used as an okay cleanser between beers. (Tromsø 07.10.2020).

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet nettstore. Shared with Finn. Frothy off-white head over a hazy orange coloured body, lacing rings down the glass. Prominent dried fruity nose, mid-sweet. Apricot taste with a vinous support. Woody. Lingering aftertaste with warmth from the alcohol. Mouthfilling. Likable, rather sweet though. (Tromsø 22.09.2020).

Bottle at home. Pours black with very little head. Aroma is dark malts, red wine notes, bourbon, prunes, and some funk and green apple. Big body. Flavour is rich and malty, lots of chocolate and coffee but not too much roasted barley. Considering it's an oatmeal stout it could be a bit smoother, not getting that oat character here. Barrel is very noticeable and there's definitely a touch of bourbon, but in a blind tasting I would have put my money on this being a red wine BA - a lot of flavours I associate with that kind of barrel, like light acidity, some funk and a general grape and wine note. Not what I was expecting from the description and understandable that it gets some bad reviews here. It is still tasty however and had it been sold as a wine BA (perhaps even with brett) it would have probably been better received. As it is I don't get much from the bourbon barrels, but I still get a good impy.

Bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde. Pours hazy black with a quickly dissipating, beige head. Aroma of chocolate powder & sauce, mocha, raw vanilla, toffee, prune, peanut, hazelnut, cream. Taste has sweet chocolate, cream & nuts, some mocha, bitter earth & coffee with a slight earthy umami hint. Herbal hoppy finish, bit earthy, toasty, lingering sweet chocolate but not overpowering. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Nicely done at this ABV.

Can. Just a mild haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light and semi dry palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts, a thin creamy sweetness. Hop bill is Enigma and Ekuanot, but that doesn't really translate in to the taste, which is resinous piney bitter grapefruit marmalade! A little cooling pine. Light semi dry finish. Long bitterish grapefruit marmalade linger. Curious affair!

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, bubbly, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, chocolate, sweet liquorice and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with caramel, burnt sugar, dark chocolate, coffee, sweet liquorice, black rye bread, roasted grain and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Not very complex for this kind of beer, but tasty and quite well balanced for its strength. Nice one.
