Description
Timmermans has kept the tradition of the true lambic alive for over 300 years now. This unique beer, made with 30% wheat, is brewed in Itterbeek, in the oldest active lambic brewery. At its origin is a miracle: micro-organisms in the air of the Senne valley end up in the wort and cause spontaneous fermentation. This is why a true lambic is brewed only within a 15 km radius of Brussels, in the area known as Pajottenland. Since 1993, Martin’s Finest Beer Selection has been proud to preserve this authentic part of Belgium’s beer heritage.

1/III/25 - 75cl bottle @ Belgian Beer Geek Gathering (2025 Winter/Spring edition), BB: IX/2026 (2025-174) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!
Clear deep dark ruby coloured beer, small irregular light pink head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, funky, lots of brett, sourish impression, some cherries. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very acidic start, fruity notes, a bitter touch, lots of cherries, quite some almonds, a bit oxidized, more sour cherries. Aftertaste: dry, brett notes, spicy, nice cherries, a bit oxidized, almonds, nice stuff!

Bouteille 75cl @ Belgian Winter gathering 01 March 2025 – Tim’s place, thanks Eugene. BB 09/2036.

This is a low alcohol peach juice. The peach flavour is right out of a carton of kids peach juice. I cannot find any redeeming beer qualities.

Bottle at the beer bistro. Hazy golden pour with a small. White head. Horse blanket, wet hay, minerals, lemon juice and malted wheat. Lovely. Mouth feel, good carb. Tart, funky finish, sour and complex. Lots of grains and funky wet hay, and overly ripe sour fruit. Excellent.

Pours a ruby/amber colour with tiny white/pinkish head. Aroma of sour cherry, sugary. Taste is sour but there is also a lot of sweetness. Medium carbonation. I am not a fan of Kriek beers, but I found this surprisingly drinkable. So, I guess this is a decent example of the style (which always gives me a slight belly-ache for some reason).

Hazy orange golden with a small white head. Aroma of sour lemons, citrus peel, slight funk. Flavour is similar, nice pungent sourness. I like a little more cellar funk in my Lambic, but the intense tartness makes up for it.

Aroma of wheat, fruits, lemon, orange, sour apples. Flavour is sour and sugary sweet, with the sourness a a bit dominant over the sweetness. A bit on the sweet side, but okay.
