Description
Big Drop Brewing Co. is a new craft beer company dedicated to making great beer with an ABV of no more than 0.5%.
Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.
The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.
Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

330ml Can - Golden/light amber. Pine, grapefruit and pineapple in the aroma. The taste is much the same with a biting, yet not excessive, bitterness.

Black beer, good toasty malt aroma. Flavour is malty too,a decent on t.of chocolate. It's a touch watery as you'd expect for the strength but Big Drop are really good at these. Could very happily sit and drink a few of these.

33cl fles van AH. Bleekgele kleur, witte kraag. Ruikt heerlijk fris, citrus, citroen, iets van passievrucht. Smaak is wat dun maar lekker fris, weinig tot geen nare bijsmaakjes of geurtjes. Prima.

Can from Morrisons Supermarket, Moston. Golden-blonde with a small head and a carbonation. Noticeably weaker in terms of strength, however it's texture and taste holds up really well. Crisp, hoppy, some tropical fruitiness, this brew is certainly at the better end of low alcohol brews.

330ml Can - Light amber with a small head. Herbs, caramel and rye in the aroma. Clean taste with caramel, thyme, basil, rye and some faint hints of citrus. Not bad and a lot more character than most NA lagers.

(Can) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Hoppy nose with notes of citrus, pine needles, tropical fruit, grass, apricots, honey and a touch of sponge cake. Malty, hoppy taste with grapefruit, pine needles, resin, apricots, bread and a balanced piney bitterness in the finish. Ligh body, quite dry. Lacking some body to support it, but it has a rich piney, citric hop presence. Fresh and tasty. Quite nice.
