2004 Bottle. Nearly lost my eye on this bottle. I gave the cage one twist of the wires and the cork and cage assembly exploded in my hand. Violent gushing for a couple of seconds (lost about an eighth of the bottle first pour is violently carbonated, like champagne, nearly all foam, and then the bubbles appear violent in the glass. Golden yellow, chill hazed body. Second pour yeilds a white head that stays for the duration of the drink. Nose of apples, lemon citrus, horseblanket and earthiness. Taste is pretty darn dry (not Austrian Trocken, but still pretty dry). Taste is overrippened apples, earthiness, and a bit of plastic-funkiness in the finish. Sharp champagne like carbonation, and a dry mouthfeel. Gets better the more I drink it.

2005 375ml bottle from pepsican; Nose is like a caramelized apple (sweet apples with a light caramel note); color is a caramel brown (about halfway between a light and a dark caramel); flavor is apples, sweetness, and a definate toffee flavor. Finish has a tiny bit of tartness but not much. A very much different ice cider than all the others I have had!

2004 750ml bottle from tytoanderso and I got another from pepsican; don’t remember which is which?; Nose of tartness, apples, and a lightly funky note; translucent yellow with a small yellowish head; flavor is fairly much on the tart side, with the aplle coming through strong and a background sweetness; finish is light sour funkiness.

2005 vintage bottle...Quite a task to enter the thing..golden amber color...aroma---sour apple sauce, but not a bad sour...sour is from fermentation, thats ok with me...viscous body...no carbonation (normal)...this is my first ice cider, although I’ve had quite a few ice wines....this one is unique in its apple based flavor, sweet yet tasty with the apple presence...damn good dessert stuff here...its like an apple cider on steroids

Murky caramelized apple colour. Sugary and really spicy. Soft, sweet, with some mapley notes, splashes of brown sugar and caramel. Not as rich as most of the Canadian examples I’ve had.

2002: Apple aroma, slightly vinegary with some butter and clove. Opaque gold with lots of floaties. Musty with crisp apples and some chlorophenols. Slightly bready finish. Nicely tart but quite off. Once you acclimate yourself to the phenols, it’s not that bad.

Small white head quickly disappears entirely. Lovely deep golden body with light carbonation. Light wooden apple and cork aroma, very clear and harmonic. Sweetish-dry spicy apple taste with wooden cork notes. Delicate in a way, yet sharpish and powerful. Very nice. (0.75l bottle shared with gr0ve.)

2006 corked bottle, the label said 7.5 % ABV
Slightly unclear greenish yellow colour. Refreshing apple aroma with notes of gunpowder. Sweet and sourish, earthy taste of winter apples. Some calvados and oak flavour in the background. Very elegant and really tasty.
