Bottle from GBBF 2012, drunk at home. Amber colour with a slight haze and a lasting beige head. Some hoppiness on aroma, some orange citrus fruit from the NZ hops as well. Good in mouth. Smooth and full. Good balance of malts and hops. Not too bitter on finish. A fullish mouth of kumquat juice in fact. Really rather lovely. The juicy orange citrus fruits is particularly good.

Hazy golden orange colour with an off white head. A fine fresh hoppy grape aroma. Typical grape flavour with a fine tropical fruity background together with some caramel malt. Oily texture. Nice bitterness. One of the best from Brewfist so far. This will be a good friend anytime.

Bottle. An unclear, golden-orange beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head. Piney, grassy, lightly fruity nose with maltyness in the back. Rather uncomplex, but pleasant anyway. Full-bodied, pleasantly carbonated and semi-dry, with flavors of lightly caramel maltyness in the back, and with piney, lightly grassy hop flavors up front. Pleasant bitterness to support the malts all the way. I’m not impressed by this one either, it’s a nice beer, but I except more from an IPA. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind having a few of this, but I think it will be a bit boring on a long term. 120812

Bottle. A murky, orange-brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Very lightly roasted on the nose, with caramel, resiny hops and some nutty hints. Quite pleasant, even though it feels a bit too straight forward. Slightly too carbonated, medium to full body, semi-dry. The flavor has a little sourness, hope it’s the malt playing, not any funk. Besides that, there’s roasted notes, caramel, grassy, resiny hops and an appropriate bitterness. Some sweetness to support the mostly bitter finish. Overall, a beer that doesn’t impress, but it’s a tasteful and easy drinkable beer that I could easily down a few of. 120812

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ido’s place. Thanks troubles. Orange-golden. Aroma of hops with tropical fruits and notes of pine and flowers. Flavor has a bit of malt, slightly sweet, and nice fruity and piney hops with a bitter finish. Medium-bodied, carbonation is a bit too fluffy. Enjoyable and refreshing.

(bottle) Poured slightly hazy, golden amber with slight white head. Beautiful floral fruity aroma with lemon, lime and passion-fruit. Medium body, excellent carbonation. Clean refreshing start which develops a hint of malty sweetness then the hops kick in through to a nice big bitter finish. Overall a great hoppy IPA.

Bottle from GBBF 2012. Hazy amber colour with thick lasting beige head. American hop aroma. It’s quite a sweet IPA. Some decent hops around on this beer. Yep, I mean it is an American style IPA. Well made. It’s quite good, but it’s a touch sweet and cloying. Perhaps I don’t like 7% IPAs. Yes for me just a touch too sweet. But rather drinkable at the same time. I’d be happy if I made this though. I think I was too harsh on this, it’s a decent to good IPA and I did like it and it was very drinkable and I will drink it again.

Cream to tan medium head, rather stable over dark amber-red beer. Bit caramelly, even like pale caramel toffees. Bit of sulphur, dark candi sugar, autumn leaves. Smells more like a dark Bock than an ale. Dry-woody-bitterish, even stripper. Severe, but pleasing if you like this kind. Surprising little bitterness. Bit of dark chocolate warming up. Very slick, medium bodied,; dry, tannin-rich aftertaste. Nice. Yet another excellent Italian beer.

Keg at Euston Tap, London. A hazy light amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Tastes of lemon and some tropical fruit, slightly bitter. Incredibly moreish, nice one from Brewfist.
