Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Label says 4.5% abv. Pours a clear dark mahogany colour with a very thin beige head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, toffee, dark fruits, slightly biscuity and bready. Taste is the same as the aroma but with some added roasty notes, nuts, a little spice and a slight hoppy bitterness that hits the palate. More roasted malt and a hint of cherries also on the finish. Thin to medium bodied. Ok beer but nothing more.

Cask ale, half-pint shared with Finn at Greyfriar. Unclear dark brown body with a deep shade of red. Dotted spots on the glass. Bubbles on the surface. Quite appealing aromas of bread and toffee. Nuts, caramel and a bite of smoke to the taste profile. Ends smooth and semi sweet. Decent. (Reading 20.10.2019).
