28/10/2025. Cask at Norwich Beer Festival (Waterfront). Good pour. Aroma is chocolate, ashy, malt, dried fruits, hint of liquorice. Nicely balanced. Easy drinking milds. Liked it.

Bottle. A gift from Totnes. The person not the place. Misted pale gold. Voluminous swede settles to a thin lasting job. Bit of a buggy twang here. Also pale dry malt and some light lemony peachy hop. Taste is fairly dry and light bitter. Light body with high carbonation (definitely a bit buggy). Light dry light bitter finish. Wonky but decent enough. Refreshing if nowt else

Cask at GBBF '23, day 2, 02/08/23. Deep golden pour with an off white cap that escapes as a swirl. Nose is buttery, earthy fruits, grains, herb. Taste comprises more buttery notes, light diacetyl, grains, hedgerow, stewed fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Not great ... why would you produce this or put it on at a showcase festival?

Bottle from Russell & Newnes, Aldeburgh. Extremely dark, but not quite black, with a very thin head. A full-bodied mild with some porteresque style roasted malts. Has a hint of sweetness in its nose.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers on 12th March 2021. Pours a hazy copper with shallow disappearing pale tan foam. Caramel malt aroma. Sweet malts and toffees in-mouth with a suggestion of fresh apple. Leafy hops and caramel malts steer a bittersweet finish. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.
