750mL bottle several times, pours a hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma is quite rustic, lots of farmhouse characteristics, with loads of bretty funk. Flavour is intensely funky with loads of complexity, bringing out elegant bretty funk, citrus notes and farmhouse notes. So many layers of complexity to this with loads of funk. Simply one of the best brett saisons there is

Bottle shared at The Kernel with Evin and Nate, thanks to Shaun. I was focused on enjoying this beer with the Kernel lads so didn’t focus on notes until the dust had settled, as it were. Some recollections, which don’t necessarily do the beer justice: Lovely appearance. Clean. Maximum complexity. Grass, fresh funk. Watching Nate drink this was a treat. He would alternate from complete silence to basically jibberish as he enumerated the myriad ways in which this beer was perfect. I mostly stayed silent, enjoying one of the best beers I have ever tasted.

Some recollections, which don’t necessarily do the beer justice: Smokey nose. Wood and roast. Sweet flavor, notes of cocoa. Oily with some resin and dirt and earth. Unreal good. This was just a fantastic beer on every front.

Bottle at Leighton’s Aug 11 tasting. It pours hazy straw yellow, with a massive white head. The nose is white bread, grass, leafy, farmyard, nettles and pepper. The taste is lemon, lime, grass, white farmhouse bread, cornflake, pepper, spice and soap, with a light bitter finish. Light body and fine, foamy carbonation. Smooth, clean flavour, well balanced and easy drinking. Decent.

Bottle courtesy GoT. Citrus nose, tangerine and grapefruit, but not as bright and fresh as could be. Toasty malts. Balanced tangy citrus finish. Golden color.

Growler courtesy GoT. Hazy amber, medium head. Tangerine and grapefruit nose, some hints of sweat. Citrusy flavors with a crisp cracker like malt. Orange peel aftertaste, but then a longer lingering grapefruit tang. Seriously fresh and bright hops, like sticking your nose in a bag of ’em.

Bottle shared at Woodshop 6. Pours with a very hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aromas of light funk, grassy, grainy, estery. Quite floral and estery with some fruit notes that I can’t exactly tell if they are hop based or yeast based. A hint of cheerio/cereal flavor. Flavors are estery, grassy, floral, grainy and hoppy. Some pineapple notes. Light bubbles, dry. A bit minerally.

Bottle thanks to someone at Woodshop 6. Pours with a deep brown body and a tan head. Aromas are funky and incredibly vinous: red wine, currant, cocoa and a cherry ester. Flavors are estery, very minimal phenols, brett, funk, cherry and tobacco. Very dry, medium bubbles.

Bottle at a tasting. Pours hazy, yellow-gold with a huge, pure white head. Mild grass in the aroma, some yeast, light funk. Light sweet flavor, lovely understated sweetness, light grassy bitters. Light bodied with lively and smooth carbonation. Super clean finish, light sugar, good grass, light funk. Extremely drinkable. Great stuff.

750mL growler, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany!), split many ways, pours black with a small tan head. Roasted aroma with lots of espresso - rich roasted qualities dominate. Flavour of very rich roasted malts, perfect balance between chocolate and espresso, with a chocolate and roasted finish. Great depth and body. Excellent.
