Bottle. Nose is malty fruity red berry hint of brown sugar and toffee. Taste is toffee, fruity, red berry, citrus ,nice malt back bone light leafy hop with a surprising amount of pith and grapefruit in the finish. Very pleasant

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 24. Pours a clear deep amber, good white head. Ok best bitter.. malt-forward, fair bitterness, but not hitting the high notes.

29th April 2024; Monthly Beer Share in Chez Sophie (Shrewsbury), five guys and loads of beer! 500ml bottle brought by me; BBE December 2024. Clean amber pour, white crown. Malt forward with some decent fruity hop action, nice old school bitter feel to it.

500ml bottle, BBE December 2024. Drank at home on Easter Sunday, 31st March 2024. Golden body, hint of a mist within, white crown. Malty front with a slightly floral/citrus hop semi-bitterness.

a light haze on this orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth if slightly thin malts, a thin creamy sweetness. Crisp piney hop intro. Light hoppy citrus, reasonably bright, a little riper citrus underneath. Maybe a whisper of tropical fruits on the light finish. Fine, but another of those beers that delivers hoppage but little representation of the actual hops involved. Tidy but...

A light haze on this orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light dry pale malts, a touch of cereal. The quartet of modern hops are delivered in a startlingly old fashioned manner, pithy and perky. Some ripe orange and mandarin on the back end, as in over ripe. Mild pine. Light and semi dry finish leaves a pithy linger and a touch of modern Mosaic candy fruits. Okay, could be doing a lot more with these hops imho.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 23. Thanks Jeremy for our allotted twig bottle. Pours dark, good beige head. Aroma of chocolate, dark malt, gentle roast. Flavour profile continues along these lines, medium bodied with pleasant chocolatey elements.. bit of a burnt finish. Decent overall.

Monday 27th November 2023, Monthly gathering in Chez Sophie. 500ml bottle from me: BBE February 2025. Slight red hue to the dark body, off-white crown. Malty with a chocolate front with hints of dark berries and vanilla sweetness. One of the better Christmassy beers from the UK.

Bottle from Rich's Cider, Highbridge. Aroma combines pine with a vinous edge and underlying fruit. Hazy-opaque amber. Thin foamy translucent white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Resinous with s vinous edge and grapefruit. Underlying cardboard malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Nice enough... but always feel like an old school brewery like this doesn't quite get how to handle fancy forrin hops.

Bottle from Truckles, Burnham-on-sea. Aroma had low key resin. Hazy-opaque amber. Thick foamy white head... we have a gusher. Medium bodied. Resinous. If not a long lasting impact. Hints of peripheral berries. Light underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Much better than I was expecting from a twiggy pusher's SIPA.
