750 ml. A pleasant surprise in its balance of brett, malts and bitterness. Hazy gold body with a huge, white, frothy head, slowly diminishing. The aroma is brettanomyces funk (barnyard and dust) and lacquer along with orange peel and lemon, toasted grain, flowers and soap. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and slightly tart. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter and moderately tart. Medium body, creamy texture (a brett milkshake with fizz) and lively carbonation. Not as dry in the finish as it shoud be. The flavors start with lacquer and funkiness, along with some fruit that soon surrenders to a bitterness that lasts — a finish that lots of American saisons lack. Very tasty.

Courtesy of tpd975. Thanks Greg! Pours hazy copper with gold edges and loose tall white head. The aroma is smooth yet semi bright with pears, apples, aged smashed pears, sweet malts and some vanilla. The taste is very smooth with vanilla, fruity goodness, slick sweet malts and rich ripe sweet green apples. This is a smooth tasty brew showing virtually no sense of the big abv. Very nice.

Aroma: The nose has some chocolate, lots of dark fruits, booze, some spice, and some nuts
Appearance: Pours a black color with a thin, fizzy tan head that sticks around the edges of the glass
Flavor: Sweet (brown sugar), some earthy and nutty flavors, bittersweet aftertaste
Palate: A medium-full bodied beer with lively carbonation, it is a bit boozy with a chewy feel
Overall Impression: This one is certainly on the different side, that is for sure. I'm not sure I'd want to drink a whole one of these, but it is worth trying. A bit too harsh, and lacking in balance, but not bad. I wouldn't rush out to get this one again, but I wouldn't skip it either.

bottle number 431/2157 pours hazy burnt orange with a tall frothy off white head. Lemon peel, peach, yeast and alcohol in the nose. Sweet peach juice and bitter lemon peel mix with a peppery hot alcohol finish. The sweetness is not overbearing, but cloying with the alcohol going unoticed until the lengthy finish. Very nice brew.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown/amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty sweetish dark fruit and raisin aroma. Sweetish malty woody dark fruit flavor with some hints of alcohol. Has a sweetish malty fruity dark fruit finish with some hints of wood and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Pours a very hazy ruddy color with no head. Rich aromas of dark fruit and maybe bourbon/vanilla. Very full bodied with mildly sparkling carbonation. Flavor is dark fruit, blending into vanilla, oak and arguably bourbon. Although it is somewhat sweet, the astringency pretty well balances that out. It is an incredibly drinkable ale, and there was no heat until it hit the tum.

Bottled@The Chriso Gaylord tasting. Deep ambery, close to black, colour with small head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, dark fruits, some ashes as well as some vanilla and plum. Flavour is liquorice, caramel malts, mildly smoked wood, plum, some vanilla as well as mild ashes, nuts and some alcohol. Complex, and just lovely. Apparently there are still some very very nice imperial stouts out there...

Bottle. Dark brown color, hardly any head. Molasses and tropical fruit in the aroma. Little carbon. Sugary sweet flavor with molasses and dried tropical fruit. Ginger and marmalade. Alcoholic. Too sweet and onedimensional.
