Bottle shared in London - picked up from Kris. Pours deep brown with a frothy tan head. The nose has rich, bready dark malts, so,e toasted toffee, orange. Medium sweet flavor with some charry cocoa, dark fruits, doughy burnt bread, raisins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, nice cocoa, more dried dark fruits. Solid effort.

Many thanks to andrew_drinks for that one! Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Fine hoppy aroma. Starts mild but not washy, wonderful hoppy-flowery with some fruity lemon notes. Well balanced finish, hoppy-spicy. Quite drinkable. Really nice!

Many thanks to andrew_drinks for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Wonderful hoppy aroma. Starts fine hoppy, modest sweet, more and more spicy notes. Light dry-woody background. Well balanced dry hoppy finish. A good one!

(Cask at Harp, Charing Cross, London, 13 Apr 2014) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with foamy white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, grass, resin and fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of biscuity malt, grapefruit, resin and fresh hops in a dry finish with a generous bitterness. Light body, quite dry. Fresh, tasty and highly drinkable. Nice one. (Iโm a bit uncertain about the batch, but this is my best guess. If someone knows better, just let me know.)

(Draught at Craft Islington, London, 12 Apr 2014) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and cacao. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, cacao, black rye bread and a creamy chocolate bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. A touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced stout. Very nice.

Bottle from Bottledog, Kingโs X. It pours opaque black with a medium light tan head. The nose is pine, oak, chocolate, molasses, citrus peel, toasted coconut and marshmallow. The taste is bitter, rich roast, earth, charred wood, pine needles, liquorice, toasty, citrus peel, grapefruit, soap and some alcohol with a lingering bitter finish. Medium+body and fine carbonation. Certainly not lacking in flavour and it all comes together rather well. Another winner from the weird bearded ones.

Cask at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 03/04/14. Hazy dark amber/orange. Nose is woody, light spice, bitter orange, decaying wheelie bin just prior to collection, tangy apricot. Taste comprises bitter fruits, leather, fruit yoghurt, wood tinged, bitter orange, hnt of tobacco. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Hmmm ... a little mixed up and unbalanced.

Bottle from Deliciously Different. Dark brown/black colour. Sweet nose of marshmellow and creme brulee with some peppery notes and citrus. Very strange combination. Sweet taste with bitter aftertaste. Not bad but this beer is a bit a mess.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a foamy head. Gooseberries, grassy hops and grapefruit in the aroma. Zesty, tangy and slightly biscuity taste with notes of gooseberries, grapefruit and lemon. Refreshing and very easy to drink, although the choice of hops (and the amount of them that have been used) means that this beer is hard to recognise as a pilsner.
