Bottle at RBWG 2014, thanks! Pours near black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of of earthy pine and dark grains with a bit of roasted malts underlying. Flavor has a nice earthy dark grain note with grass and an underlying pine note.

Bottle from Vino Wines. Hazy golden body with a huge domed white head. Lively carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of pineapple, mango and Wine Gums. Juicy flavour of grapefruit, mandarin, lime and a hint of minerals and crushed aspirin. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. Huge hoppy flavour - this is up there with Fyne Ales’ Jarl as my favourite sub 4.0% ABV beer.

Smell of citrus and spruce. Hazy amber colour, small white head. Aroma of spruce, citrus, a faint of pepper in finish. Lively and plentiful carbon. Starts out very bitter and transitions into sweetness. Nice attitude.

Keg at Friends of Ham, Leeds, Saturday 15th February 2014. Pours black with a light beige head. Plenty of coffee on the nose and also lots of creamy milky chocolate. Soft in mouth the chocolate and coffee on the nose come through well in the mouth a tangy sour edge adds an interesting element and a hoppy finish also. Its nice but maybe doesn’t quite live up to the promise shown on the nose. A8 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

330ml bottle shared with jeevan. Pours hazy gold with a massive had, quite over carbonated, predict this might turn into a gusher given its four year BBE! Aromas of banana, cream and bounty bar. Taste has quite a sweetness, yeastiness, too sweet for me. Prickly texture, oily finish.

Bottled 500ml (bottled 10/2013, AbM)
Golden, a bit hazy color, small steady white head. Quite weak nose, fruity and yeasty notes. Light-bodied. Citric, yeast, hay, orange peels. Can’t find much of star anise. A bit boring, although not much of false here.
