500ml bottle picked up at the beer festival in Tromsø 19.08.2006. Very dark, almost black in colour. Nice brownish foam that last for a while. Dark malty aroma. Flavour of sweet chocolate and sharp roasted malt. Very drinkable for a stout, but may be a bit diluted.

Golden body with nice bubbles and some foam. Sweet fruity aroma. The flavour is also dominated by hoppy fruitiness wtih some notes of sweet, dark malts. Crispated. Not bad, but very standard (Sampled at Tromsø Ølfestival 17.08.2006).

500ml bottle - Pours dark reddish brown with a thin head. The aroma is dominated by caramel malts with a touch of yeast, and that was telling of the flavor as well. There wasn’t much going on here. The moderate body was okay and the palate and the finish was dry and lightly bitter. This beer was okay, but at five bucks for one bottle I expected better. It’s definitely not worth it even for a bottle that survived okay despite being clear. I see some reviewers had skunkiness problems. What is it with English ales and their clear bottles? Don’t they care about their product? It baffles me.

500ml bottle at the Beer Festival in Tromsø (17.08.2006). A bit unclear, orange body over a white foamy layer. Inviting floral-hop aroma. Orange fruity sweetness in taste with lots of hops and a dry, balanced bitter ending. As others have pointed out, this must be one of the best from the Wychwood Brewery - almost blond magic.

Dark black/brown beer with a light brownish creamy head. Thick root dirt smell is totally diffrent from the rich sweet taffey malt flavor. It also has caramel tons.
