Cask at Clerkenwell. Orange-gold with lace. Nose is orange, diacetyl, butterscotch, spicy pepper. Flavors of creamy fruit, toffee, peach, mango, pepper. Too much diacetyl ruins it. Estery, creamy, with a very bitter finish.

Keg at the southern. Pours hazy yellow to amber with great head and lacing. Lemon, citrus, spice, saison sharp yeast and tropical fruit in the nose, following through in the flavours. Dries out on the finish spectacularly. One of the highlights of the evening.

Tap at Friends of Ham. I had this down as a wheat beer until I read the commercial description. Which makes sense. My first by this brewery, I’d be more than happy to try their other offerings.

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is of fudge and caramel leading to a medium bitter flavour, with a smooth creamy palate with roasted malt and a little barnyard, not to mention a little bit of hoppy spice too. This beer really is packed with flavour.
