[50cl bottle from my local Sainsbury's] A bright amber pour with a loose off-white head; gingerbread aroma; sweet caramel malt taste with a fruity gingerbread body; then a touch of unsettling spice to finish. Not my cup of tea, or slice of cake.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s Belfast. Copper colour with a medium head. Aroma of gig and fruit cake. Flavour is caramel, dark fruits, thin malt, tangy winter base.

500ml bottle. Pours clear amber, small consistent white head, nice lacing. Aroma is malty, zesty, sweet mango, grass. Standard regional brewery cheap IPA feel. Taste is as per aroma, nice tangy fruit note in the middle, but a bit of a dry resin noted bitter finish which isn't that tasty. Medium bodied, chewy finish.

500ml bottle @ 6.8%. Pours clear gold with small circular bubbled retention. Aroma of green apple skins, some funk, sweet and tart notes. Taste is sweet and tangy apple juice, slightly acidic, some apple peel, slight dryness but its a sweet cider overall. Lacks some complexity but is nice.

[75cl bottle from my local Sainsbury’s.] A golden amber pour with a tight white head; tropical fruit aroma with a little yeast; yeasty taste to start, then smooth and fruity with lemon, grapefruit and mango; followed by a dry finish with a touch of spice. A rather good Belgian blonde style beer.

[50cl bottle from my local Sainsbury’s.] A dark copper brown coloured pour with a scant white head; hedgerow hop aroma; fruity hop taste with some fig and malty caramel; then a lingering fruity finish. A pleasant winter ale, but rather thin.
