RB England #100 Cask at Charlies. Pours golden orange, clear, with a little off-white head. Light ashtray aroma. Flavour is dry malty, ashtray, tobacco and light fruity note before the finish. Ends mild herbal and bitter.

Amber color, small off-white head. Woody-grassy hoppy nose. Woody hoppy flavor with caramelly-malty sweetness. Flavors of mould - propably this cask was not at its best. Some dusty hops in the aftertaste.

Bottle Gardener’s Arms, GK pub, Oxford, RB Pub crawl 08. Amber with no head. Some fruit on aroma. No flavour. Some malt. So watery. Over carbonated. But not awful.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Gold with a white head, heavily carbonated; grassy hop aroma; caramel malt flavours with more grassy hop; underwhelming dry finish. Refreshing, but boring.

Beautiful red-amber color and cap. Nice hop aroma, with some fruitness. Average body, not impressive, some metallic sensation. Strong bitter final, with no aroma. Not interesting.

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Strong beer with a malty/nutty flavour. Deep amber in colour with lasting thin beige head. Raisin/cranberry aroma. Fruity malt. Alcohol is a little sickly. A good fireside warmer if a little sweet.

Dark amber coloured body with ruby and brown highlights and a nice thick dense tan head. Aroma of fresh english hops, nice caramel, toffee, caramel malt, blood and a bit of metal. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong fruit in the taste up front with a very mild malt backbone and some nuts and toffee to round out the tastes. Aftertaste shows a tiny bit of the english hops, but mostly roasted sugars and some malt. Overall, a decent esb, nothing special and not much different than the plain jane IPA. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 27-January-2008.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Gold with a thin white head; deep leafy hop aroma immediately jumps out when openned; thin body, some sweet fruit and citrus with an underlying bitterness; chewy hop finish. Typical GK. (27Jan2008 6/3/5/3/10=2.7)
330ml bottle from Tescos - rebranded in the craft beer style "Golden Beer made with Cascade hops". Little change, there’s a pleasant citrusy tang, but otherwise it’s another boring golden ale.

Incredibly unattractive bottle all the way: Anyway, it pours clear gold with a off white head. Aroma has a sweet fruityness. The body is light watery & taste is basically dull & bland! No personality. Dont try this at home!
