Cask at JDW The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon 04-11-07 Dark amber in colour with a thin white head. Sticky toffee in abundance at first and then a lovely rich and warming feel as it slips down sticky fruits also very much in evidence, a really nice beer, cask put on just before we left pub so glad I got to try this. Very enjoyable.

Cask at The Plough, Appleton, Oxon, leg three of the Thames Tipple Very dark brown colour with some light malts on the nose. Caramel in the mouth and very flavoursome for such a low abv, a well kept beer that was really enjoyable.

Tap at Cheers, Yokohama. Malty aroma, earth tones, some sweetness, some spice. Clear amber color with a mid sized, thick head. Smooth, full body. Flavor of english malt, toasted, caramel, I swear a little bit of apple. The finish has a little noticeable alcohol. Easy to drink.

Copper-amber brown color, small white head. Caramelly and skunky hoppy nose. Toffeish, nutty hoppy, slightly skunky and hoppy. Hints of metal. Decent English pasteurised bitter which is only 3,6 %. Similar to some Shepherd Neame’s products.

Bottle from Oxford Tesco 01-11-07 Some citrus and honey on the nose also barley sugar, poured gold with white head. Tasted fine if a bit plain but a reasonable balance of honey sweetness and bitterness carried it through.

Clear amber body with a large creamy off-white heaed that persists. Sweet earthy and floral hops aroma on a caramel background. Slightly resiny hops. Light grainy malt hints. Sweet caramel flavor with a dry finish. Bitterness in the finish. Very smooth body with low carbonation.

Cask/Gravity at The Swan Beer Festival, Islip 05-10-07 Pours warm gold with good clarity the merest whiff of hops. Slightly medicinal flavour, in fact this tastes like drinking beer with a squirt of toothpaste added at the same time, sweet totally devoid of character.
