Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with light flowery notes from the hops, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle from Sainsbury I think. Copper in colour, caramel and malty nose. This has always been one of the better of the regularly available Green King beers on cask but in bottle it’s not quite as good. Caramel and toffee flavours but with a wishy washy body considering the reasonable abv lacking a bit in bitterness a bit as well.

Light caramel malt aroma. Humongous foam, but nice coppery amber color appears. Very creamy texture. Very finely nitrogenated. A nice, light malt complemented by a nice light bitter. Makes a break from the serious stuff, and it is an ale. S’ok.

Fairly nice looking, dark ruby colour with a frothy head. Limited aroma, slightly malty. Sweet. malty flavour, hint of apples, although not as strong as most GK beers in that department. Very little after-taste save some residual sweetness. Drinkable, but hardly a good example of it’s style.

Purs a dark brown colour with a fair amount of head. The smell is sweet and with hints of dry fruit. Flavours are somewhat burnt and again dark fruit comes into the mix, also a slight hint of Oxo. This beer seems to vary from batch to bathc, this one was pretty good, but I think I’ve had better. The only great beer Greene King make these days.
