Description
The Eagle Brewery was previously a Charles Wells brewery site and became part of Marston's (Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company) wider business in May 2017. The Eagle Brewery continued to brew many of the former Charles Wells brewery brands sold to Marston's including brands such as Bombardier, Courage, and McEwan's.

The Eagle Brewery was later sold by the Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC) to S.A. Damm (Grupo Damm) in November 2022, though Eagle brands remain with Marstons.

Black in colour. When held against the light there's some ruby. Burnt aroma with some coffee and maybe a touch of vanilla. Tasty flavour of dark, bitter chocolate. Very smooth and drinkable.

A very dark amber beer with a very fine head. It has a light fruity aroma. The flavor is smooth powerful and very nice, it contains fruit, wood and roast notes - and ends on a powerful bitterness - really a good winter beer.

A great pour with the guinness effect and a rich dense tan head on top of a completely opaque black coloured body. Chocolate and coffee tones with a roasted malt aroma. Great chocolatey bittersweet flavour with a great feel in the mouth--I love the widget. A great all around stout with some flavour compared to the flavourless guinness!

Black in color, I couldn’t see ruby. Head is brown and disappears quickly. Scent of chocolate. Chocolate taste is immediately noticeable, and as it warmed I also tasted coffee and hops. Full bodied. Left a dry feeling in my mouth; the last few sips were noticeably bitter. Very good. As one of my very early ratings, I was very impressed with this at one point. While still a quality beer, it no longer impresses as it once did. Still looks great, but the aroma and flavor are much lighter now that I have more to compare to.

A dark amber beer with a very fine head. The aroma is very nice with notes of roasted malt and sweetness. The flavor is also very good - of a very fine maltblend carrying a mellow sweetness finish by a lovely bitterness. Really a good beer.

A light nutbrown/dark amber beer with a fine head. It has a nice sweet fruity aroma with notes of alcohol. The flavor is strong of a good malt blend - with a nice medium sweetness and a really nice bitterness, that lingers.

I don't like the vanilla-chocolate aroma, but the smooth, sweet taste is not bad, with the addiction of a nice touch of roasted barley.

Black! Brownish creamy head, generous. Malt nose; chocolate, evident; unluckly it reminds me something unpleasant (infamous Florisgaarden Chocolat). Solid stout, but living in Switzerland I can`t fully appreciate this cheap chocolate.
I would like to taste the same beer without chocolate.

Unfortunately it looked a lot better than it tasted. dark red and cloudy. Tasted some coffee, some bitterness. Very filling. May have been in the store cooler too long.

An amber/orange beer with a small fine head. The aroma is only slight but fruity and with notes of honey. The flavor though is dominated by sournes - is it the type of honey used? The malt is totally dominated by the honey - and this honey kills the malt sweetness. I don''t like that. In the end there is a slight sweetness from the honey, and then it ends on a bitter note, but still dominated by the bad honey taste. Not a beer that I can recommend - if You want a honey beer try Carlsbergs Semper Ardens Honey Ale - that is a fantastic beer.
