Arômes de biscuits ‘’Social Tea’’ offrants de subtiles notes de noisettes et un léger caramel. Esters délicats de fruits rouges. Présence de houblons non perçue. Mousse généreuse, mais rocailleuse et pétillante qui descend assez rapidement. Liquide cuivré rougeâtre parfaitement limpide. Malts et esters dominent l’entrée de bouche avec des notes intenses de biscuit, de cerises et de framboises confites. Les houblons sont feuillus, rappelant les arômes de feuilles mortes d’automne, nous offrant une amertume moyennement douce. Importants esters dans cette pale ale qui aurait intérêt à mettre l’accent sur l’équilibre malt / houblons. Appréciée tout de même pour sa complexité de saveurs. Unibroue HIPL de Rivière-Trouble Hazy IPL 6.2% Deep orange gold with thick fluffy white foam and a very malty caramel with sharp citrus and pine aroma. Medium to full bodied, the taste matches the aroma but to be honest I feel it’s like an old skool heat damaged imported west coast IPA so I fear this is past date or something. Disappointing.

Pleasant mildly sweet hay malts, a significant apricot flavour, lingering mild bitterness with a little sugar sweetness. The apricot is strong, almost artificial. Feels more like a cooler, than a balanced beer.

Notes from June 2010 A reintroduction to this beer, after a friend brought me one back from Canada not too long ago. That particular bottle got lost in a sea of other things being shared & I didn't really get an idea of what I has having. A slow gushing bottle flops into my narrow Rare Vos tumbler. A couple inches of lightly dusted pink head sits atop a cloudy, off-amber, body. It fizzes up & settles like a neon dyed soda. Actually the color is sort of tough to describe. It's more like prosciutto with a shot of pink or salmon. Appetizing, as long as there is some sort of fruity smell accompanying it. ...And here we go. Smell is a mix of kiwi strawberry juice box juice upfront, with a big splash of Sprite soda & V8 vegetable juice. Quite strange, but not a total wtf moment. More then a bit headache inducing, but with enough carbonation, it can be refreshing I guess. Feel & flavor are actually mild in comparison to its first impressions. Dry, itchy straw wheat texture. Carbonation is quiet, but sizzles as it finishes. Taste is a half-flat, half-oxidized generic wheat beer with an unpronounced watered down berry flavor. Almost like an artificial blue raspberry Gatorade, or a fruit-flavored tonic water, with just a touch more of an acidic bite. Barely tannic. Yeasty on the finish like other flavors in the Ephemere line. A bit of a gummy flavor too. The colder the better.

Notes from October 2011 Bottle from DeCicco's. Stored in the fridge since early 2010. Ommegang anniversary glass. Murky dark orange maple color. Decent pour free of noticeable sediment. Still a bit of a haze. Bulbous lather deflates & leaves even waves of lace. Smells of brown sugar, molasses & dirt on one side, while being quite floral & slightly fruity on the other(lightening the overall impression). A bit boozy. Taste is of red grapes & raisins upfront, turning bourbon-y & yeasty in the follow through. Wood, all spice, maple & leather. Finishes on a trail of oxidation & a subtle apple twang. Feel is thinner then expected & not as yeasty as most other Unibroue offerings I've had. Carbonation was mellow but firm. Felt a bit warmer then 10%. Oxidation is starting to make it's move, but everything seems mostly intact except for the spices. Pairs well with something lathered in bbq sauce. Drink now.

Can from Drinks of the World, St. Gallen. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and spice. The taste is sweet and light bitter.

(Can) Pours hazy golden amber with loose off-white head. Aroma of orange and pine. Light body with bright carbonation. Taste of citrus and mango at the start, some subtle biscuit malt and then a nice hoppy bitter finish. Well balanced hoppy beer.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with big white head. Aroma of banana and clove with a metallic hint. Medium body with modest fine bright carbonation. Good complex taste. Toffee malt backbone. Some nice bitterness in finish. Peppery spice. Some alcohol apparently towards finish. Very good.
