Description
In 1965, Lacons were taken over by a Whitbread who closed Lacons down in 1968. Subsequently reclaimed independence in 2013 and started brewing again.

Early on, beers were produced under a number of names, including Courtyard and Wilbur Wood. Launched under the Lacon's Name in May 2013.

Based in Norfolk, Lacons Brewery is home to Lacons Encore, the award-winning amber beer. Our brewing team is committed to using the highest quality Norfolk malt along with the original Lacons yeasts. Developed over 100 years ago and used in every brew, endowing all our new beer with centuries of brewing heritage.

Clear amber beer, white head, light citrus smell. Flavour is quite grapefruity, a bit of sweet lemon in there too. It’s got a lingering citrus aftertaste too. Really nice.

Reminds me of the Doug Stanhope bit about a guy with a dog called Patriot that he got on the 9th of November. I’m not really sure I got the joke. Anyway. Cask at the Paisley Beer Festival 2016. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of orange, faint herbs. Taste is light bitter. Chalky finish.
