Description
Founded in 2007, Ascot Ales was bought by Chris Davies in 2017. Together with his son, Conor, they rebranded to Ascot Brewing Company and have since launched a secondary, multi-award winning, craft beer brand, Disruption Is Brewing.
In 2020, we built a formidable 8,500 sq. ft Brewery and TapHouse, which boasts a massive mezzanine bar with 20 taps, and hosts all types of events from beer festivals to comedy nights and corporate events to private parties.
We believe beer is the social glue that binds communities together. By brewing remarkable, flavour-bursting beer and offering unrivalled, memorable experiences, we want to push the boundaries of what’s possible when great beer and people unite.
This means we need to be bold, and we need to be big.
In November 2019, we moved to an 8,500 sq. ft warehouse, built a massive 2,500sq. ft, 20 tap taproom, increased our brewing capacity and launched an innovative craft beer brand, Disruption is Brewing. Later they completely abanded the Ascot branding.

Cask at The Lyric, Soho. I was inspired to drink this purely because of the fantastic picture on the pump clip - a beautiful image of a surly looking penguin leaning over and inserting its beak deeply into this very brew. The penguin appears thoughtful, analysing the complexity of the beer through its beak more deeply than even Deanso could through his nose. The scene is portrayed against a picturesque backdrop of sharp snowy arctic mountains and a deep blue icy cold sea. The beer itself is clear brown with a tan head. The aroma explodes with notes of chocolate, dull malt, light roast and toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with very soft carbonation.

Cask at Jolly Sailor, Farnham. So I may have got this retired as part of my Surrey review. Mascot need to have a more accurate website. Although I thought the pump clip said 5.00%, but not definite on that. A feint sweet aroma. A light hazy yellow. Thick creamy head. Gains in bitterness, but not more than a medium. Hoppy. Medium bodied. A slick mouthfeel. Bitter finish is somewhat abrupt. Enjoyable enough but a conservative real ale take on an APA rather than a particularly fresh beer.

Cask at Tilly Shilling, Farnborough. Vanilla tones, but not overly sweet. Coffee in their too. Glossy black. Good thick beige head. An immediate vanilla sweetness, however a strong black coffee and quinine bitterness soon takes over. Medium bodied. Soft if somewhat watery. Long astringent finish. OK. Overly bitter for me, especially the finish.

Cask at Prince of Wales, Farnborough. Tasting slightly marred by a faulty wood burner, giving the pub a smoking. Got a fruity aroma, mixed in with smoke. Chestnut, with a thin and frothy white head. Initially sweet, through to a malty bitterness. Lightly spiced biscuits. Light bodied, soft, long finish. Enjoyable.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’16, 29/11/16. Clear golden with a decent off white head. Nose is light spice, toasted grains, straw, lemon touch, faint mustard seed. Taste comprises fruit esters, whole grain mustard tickle, straw, leafy notes, light bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough well balanced number for the remit!
