Description
Founded in 2007, Ascot Ales was bought by Chris Davies in 2017. Together with his son, Conor, they rebranded to Ascot Brewing Company and have since launched a secondary, multi-award winning, craft beer brand, Disruption Is Brewing.

In 2020, we built a formidable 8,500 sq. ft Brewery and TapHouse, which boasts a massive mezzanine bar with 20 taps, and hosts all types of events from beer festivals to comedy nights and corporate events to private parties.

We believe beer is the social glue that binds communities together. By brewing remarkable, flavour-bursting beer and offering unrivalled, memorable experiences, we want to push the boundaries of what’s possible when great beer and people unite.

This means we need to be bold, and we need to be big.

In November 2019, we moved to an 8,500 sq. ft warehouse, built a massive 2,500sq. ft, 20 tap taproom, increased our brewing capacity and launched an innovative craft beer brand, Disruption is Brewing. Later they completely abanded the Ascot branding.

Bottle from Co-op, Chobham. Creamy coffee aroma, if not overly strong. Dark and glossy. Thick beige head, in fact it was a real gusher when the bottle was first opened. Initial medium-heavy bitterness, which carries on through into the finish. Super tart berries and liquorice. However the promised coffee and chocolate are there in the undertow. Light-medium bodied. Some slickness to it but somewhat thine After the initial splurge of froth the carbonation is somewhat subdued. Astringent finish. A good stout, but not better than that. Could do with more body to it.

Bottle from Co-op, Chobham. A dank basement aroma, mixed with flora, caramel and something nutty. It is light copper. Thin bubbly white head. There’s a nutty maltyness I’d associate with a bitter but an orange/tangerine sourness that takes the lead. Irn Bru?! Medium bodied. A hint at watery with a soda carbonation. Low key finish. Pretty decent. Refreshing.

Bottle from Co-op, Chobham. Sharp floral, citrus and grass aroma. Cooked veg too. Bright gold. The bubbly white head soon fades away. Light bitter. Umami, slightly peppery, finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Lazy soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. Pretty bland. I guess it does have some spiciness to it which gives it a bit of dimension.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Light milky coffee and malts aroma. Dark cola brown. Decent beige head. Light bitter. Matches the aroma, only with cream not milk. A spiuciness comes through into the finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Soft carbonation. Long, if muted, finish. Enjoyable. Best summarised by my third use of the word ’creamy’.
