Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. 2012 vintage. Pours deep golden with a big frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sticky trace on the glass. Smell is phenolic and fruity with marzipan, sweet white bread, biscuits, figs, hay, baked pears, orange zest and hints of alcohol and glue. Taste is sweet, bitter, phenolic and fruity with caramel, sweet white bread, marzipan, baked pears, hay, white pepper corns, glue, alcohol, sheet metal and plums. Mouthfeel is round, tiny spicy astringent, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and phenolic with sweet white bread, hay, marzipan, apples, pears, orange zest, alcohol, glue and soil. Too phenolic and quite hot... Made for aging perhaps. Would be interesting to try a really old bottle.

33cl bottle. BB 11.06.16. Poured copper color with a huge, frothy, lacing white head. Sweet, honey-like aroma, yeast and some malt and dark fruits. Mellow, pleasant. Flavor is sweetish, malt, caramel, some warming alcohol towards finish, along with some hoppy notes. mild bready notes in the long finish along with sweet fruits. Tasty.

Évaluation no. 104 - Juillet 2011. Au nez, de légers houblons et de subtils caramels. La couleur est cuivrée et floue. La mousse est abondante et très persistante. L’attaque est assez houblonnée avec des notes légères de caramel. Combinaison alcool et acidité très défini. Rappelle les lambics.

Bottle at home. Bought it at the St Albans Beer festival four months ago and couldn’t wait any longer. Reddish gold, plentiful carbs and a big off-white head. A hint of strawberries adds to an earthy, yeasty, malty aroma. A pleasant metallic adage also identifiable in the aroma. Taste is bittersweet, doughy and alcoholic (but not too much so). Full creamy texture with the carbonation adds to the palette. Long complex finish. A proper treat. I’m surprised at how nice this is.

BOTTLE 33CL.
Look: clear amber with a peach-colored big creamy head with average retention.
Aroma: very malty and sweet, fruity, herbal/grassy, has a slight fruity acidic bite too.
Taste: sweet but not cloying, some phenolic and possibly hoppy bitterness, just a touch of alcohol, some acetaldehydes and light peppery spiciness.
Well into the doppelbock territory, but still drinkable and with a spicy bite.

This bottle is a few years old now. Likely from 2010. Aroma is full of esters, both fruity and floral. Lots of overripe apples and pears with light tropical fruit. Some rose and other floral notes. Light caramel graininess and a hint of honey. Pours a very clear, amber with some copper notes. Large, moderately thick, light tan head that has average retention. Medium light lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly sweet, but the malt notes are muted with caramel and honey being most prevalent; the flavor is showing the beer’s age. Moderate fruit notes, mostly ripe red apples and some lighter pear. Medium light floral esters, slightly phenolic. Low bitterness without any hop character. Mouthfeel is medium bodied With medium high carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty average beer without much character, though I doubt she helped what character it had. Oddly it had very little yeast for being sur lie. Muted make character with a lot of esters, that’s about it.

Bottle - Grain and bready sweet malts. Bit hazy copper with a rich beige head. Slight sour bitterness, caramel and bready malts, booze and fruity finish. Dry in the end and actually quite nice, but I couldn’t drink more than a glass.
