Description
Since 2008, we're running the Beer Freakshow, pushing the boundaries of the Italian craft beer scene. If you do not do it our way, we do not do. Classic styles and innovative beers, Belgian or American traditions: on the whole, the mark of Toccalmatto. Luppolature exotic and extreme experiments on yeast and fermentation, exploring new tastes and flavors using fruits, spices, aged in cask. Always and only beers of character.
In 2017 the brewery was sold to the Belgian entrepreneur Eric Coppieters and his Brasserie 28.

June 5th 2010. Bottle at Domus Birrae. Thanks to the brewer for opening it and to Fiujiln for persuading him! Black beer - a little brown head. Dark malt with fairly obvious fruity red wine - very nicely balanced. A little prickly minerals in the finish. Very good stuff indeed and another very deft barrel aged beer from this brewer. Doesn’t drink anything like 12.0% either!

June 5th 2010. Bottle at Domus Birrae. Thanks to the brewer for opening and to Fiujiln for persuading him! Cloudy amber beer. A little mild grappa on the nose. Light dry palate. A little toffee malt supporting a mellow grappa - not overpowering. Finishes soft and dry. Very interesting beer - the amount of grappa is really nicely judged.

June 5th 2010. Bottle at Domus Birrae. Cloudy amber beer. Tiny white head. Dry malt, very dry - grrrr! But at least it’s fresh! Some well behaved semi sweet hops cuts through. Finishes minerally and crisp.

June 5th 2010. On tap at Domus Birrae. Cloudy amber beer. Little white head. Crisp fresh palate. A fresh water interlude before some light malt and lighter hops kick in. Pretty fresh and crisp and very lightweight. A perfect hot day beer if a bit dry.
