Clear dark rusty red brown beer, small creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity, some vinegar, lactobacillus, lemon juice, some yoghurt, red fruits, wood, some tannins. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty acidic, bit fruity, alcohol, red berries, bitter notes, more alcohol. Aftertaste: fruity, dry, tannins, acidic, bit lemony, more fruity, bit smoky, woody, dry finish, nice one!

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice leaving in the glass. Aroma: some chlorine, caramel, dried fruits, caramel, melons. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: soft roast, caramel, dried fruits, sugary touch, bitter hops, melons. Aftertaste: bitter, spicy, soft roast, malty, oxidized, bit funky, decent!

Pours dark brown with small head. Aroma is alcohol, dried fruits. Light sweetness. Boring!

New Préaris beer - the limited 'boutique' beers apparently received more colourful labels now - intended as a light spring beer. Steinie bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Rather thick and frothy, thickly cobweb-lacing, egg-white, irregular but dense and stable head, sustained by fierce visible sparkling in an initially cristal clear, deep and bright 'metallic' amber-tinged orange beer, misty with sediment. Aroma of dried orange peel, toasty bread crust, moist white pepper, kumquat, grass, radish, tonic water, linseed. Crisp, moderately fruity onset, light green banana and apple peel aspects but nothing sweet, lively carbonation with pleasant minerally side notes fit for the style and adding 'body' and liveliness, smooth cereally maltiness, grainy but with a softer bready and even very lightly toasty side to it as well, firmly bittered in the end by floral, leafy and eventually quinine-like, long and resinous hoppiness, providing dryness and spiciness as well as a very light citrus peel aroma. Ends long-lasting bitter with some juicy maltiness peeping through. I'd describe this one as a Belgian session IPA, even if I was expecting something more New World style; low in hop aromatics so some may be disappointed by that, but for me this beer works perfectly as a quencher on a searing hot afternoon, in the final stage of the heaviest heatwave Belgium has known in modern times. Malts feel pure and clean, the hops add enough bitterness to provide a 'full' feeling to the whole and both are well-positioned against each other. May be a bit simple, but for me there is no arguing about the fact that this is a very decent, very well-made spring or summer beer.

Oddball clearance 11.16 ounce bottle from Woodman's Kenosha, 7/2/19. Bottled either 4/11 or 11/4 2017, depending on whether they are using US or European dating. Hazy dark orange, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of strong smoke, tea, earth, plum-like fruits. Taste is meaty smoke, caramel, plum. Medium bodied, low carb, some lingering spice. Interesting.

(bottle 0,33l from Beergeek online) Overall: Good strong coffee beer. Aroma: Strong coffee, light smoke. Appearance: Dark brown. Long lasting beige head. Taste: Medium sweet, coffee, roasty, fruity, spicy. Palate: Medium-full body. Bitter-roasty, light spicy, light warm finish.
