Bottle: Deep ruby amber coloured, big - slowly collapsing - beige head; moderate caramelly-sourish nose with traces of alcohol,roasted malt and mollasses; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, accompanied by a light acidity; robust sweet-bitter-fruity finish with some traces of bitter chocolate in the aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit weak in comparison to the "classical" samples of the style.................

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with a slight haze and a tan head. Malty aroma with hints of dried fruit and aniseed. Malty, roasted and slightly tangy taste, with hints of chocolate and dried fruit detected. Fairly nice, but has the potential to be much better.

Draught, Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Looked pretty enticing in the glass , a nice clear orange with a decent head. Some good lace action. Fragrant, hoppy aroma. Flavour was caramel malt, plenty of hop, with some grapefruit. Bitter finish. Seriously drinkable and really enjoyable.

Bottle at T’ Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 07-06-09 Pours a very dark brown with a light beige head. The aroma is light cocoa and a little coffee. There is a touch of dark fruits and some hoppiness showing. Soft in the mouth, alcohol is actually very well hidden and only briefly shows to warm the tongue, tasty beer. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.5

On tap at T’ Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 07-06-09 Pours a hazy, puddly brown colour with an off-white bubly head. Aroma is US hops and there is some honey sweetness also. Silky smooth in the mouth, floral honey flavours, tasty big beer with good hoppiness throughout that drinks far too easily and is a little dangerous in that respect but I enjoyed it. 330ml Bottle - Hazy amber in colour. Hoppy aroma with caramel and grapefruit. Bitter and hoppy taste with tea, grapefruit and hints of toffee. The finish is tasty and hoppy.

draft at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours lightly hazy copper with a big, foamy head. The aroma is light, citrusy hops. The taste has some easy going malt up front with moderately hops that includes citrus and grass notes. It’s light to medium bodied with gentle carbonation. This brew is very quaffable. Good session brew.

tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours deep amber with a medium sized lingering head. It smells of dark fruity malt. The flavor is sweet toasted caramel malt, dark fruit, and spice with more hops than is typical for the style. It works well though. This brew has a nice full body and some good hops bitterness in the finish. Very tasty.

Bottle: Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, quite stable off-white head; not very dry roast-malty nose, supported by sweet dried fruits and a tinge of liquorice; moderate, a bit drier, bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, soft MF; becomes even drier in the bitter-roasty finish. Pleasant belgian Porter.........

Bottela thanks to Edo(Bierkoning). Mediuml firm head. Fruity aromas pear,plum, raisins and roasted malt. Sweetish tast of roasted malt, sugar, caramel and ripe red fruits. Very well balanced and drinkable despite the high abv. I enjoyed it a lot !
