Description

Bottle, Winter Ales Festival, Manchester. This was hugely enjoyable. Poured a hazy dark orange. Wionderful fresh and fruity grapefruit cascade hop aroma. Flavour also hop packed with bags of tropical fruit. Great body, pleasantly thick, with a subdued but nicely balanced caramel malt presence. Lip smackingly tasty. Would love to get my hands on some more of this.

[33cl bottle] Hazy, amber colour with a big and light-beige foamy head. Aromatic and pretty strong spicy and piney hops aroma with notes of citrus, licorice and nettles. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied and a bit fizzy on the tongue. Dry malty base with a good dash of Cascade hops, leading into a dry and bitter finish with licorice and piney hops in the aftertaste. Another pleasant SNAB brew [07.I.09].

Very dark chestnut color, almost black; big head. Nice aroma of malt and caramel, also some chocolate and maybe liquorice and spices. Medium bodied, less thick and sweet than other examples; mostly chocolate flavor. In the end the alcohol is warming. Because of the chocolate, it reminds me more a Strong Belgian than an Eisbock.

Bottle. Hazy, ruby-amber coloured, mid-sized, stable tanned head. Molasses, caramel and dried berries in the aroma, accompanied by a tinge of yeast. solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied. Becomes even more bitter and drier in the malty and fruity finish. Very O.K. ........
