Cask at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury. Ruby/black. Roasty licorice with minty hops atop. Dryish and slender, with gentle, rounded mouthfeel. Firm and light, hoppy and elegant with flavours of viola, licorice and menthe. Tasty and hugely drinkable!

(Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London, 24 Nov 2011) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, resin and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with grapefruit, lemon, a touch of caramel and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Nice American style amber ale.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London, 23 Nov 2011) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit and resin. Malty, hoppy taste with huge amounts of hops, giving notes of resin, grapefruit and pine needles. Solid malt backbone supports the long, bitter finish. Slightly more than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Excellent beer with an impressive hop character.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London, 23 Nov 2011) Black colour with brief, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of freshly ground coffee, espresso and a hint of blueberries. Malty, roasted taste with loads of freshly ground coffee, hints of blueberries and crowberries, and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Possibly a bit one dimensional, but for a coffee geek this is a lovely beer.

Cask. Golden colour, mediumsized fluffy white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, quite citrusy with some earthy and grassy notes as well. Flavour is very citrusy and also grassy with some mild caramel malts as well as some herbs and hayish notes.Floral annd fruity aftertaste.

On tap at Craft Beer. Noted as ’Galaxy Pale Ale’. Hazy gold beer, suddy white head. Fairly dry palate. Mild carbonation. Pretty bitter hops - no compromises here! A little tropical fruit comes through towards the dry finish. Not my usual cup of char - dry and bitter - but somehow this one works just fine.

Bottle thanks to Nate. It pours very dark brown, near black, with a thin beige head. The nose is coffee, smoke, bitter chocolate and burnt malt. The taste is coffee, burnt tire, roasted malt and smoke, with a dry-roasted finish. Thin to medium body and moderate carbonation. An enjoyable brew, if a touch on the thin side.

Bottle thanks to Nate. It pours golden, with a foamy white head. The nose is pine, tangerine, grapefruit and sweaty sock. The taste is grapefruit, lemon, pith, grass, spice and alcohol, with a long dry finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and harsh bitterness. Decent, but not overly drinkable.

Craft Beer Co. Cask handpull. Copper brown colour. Lasting off white head. Smells of ginger. Way too much butterness on finish not enough malt to carry it off. That beer is too bitter too much
