Description

Blond with a light haze. Aroma and flavour are full of fresh pale malts. There’s a light citrusy hoppy taste but it’s very much in the background.

Bottle shared by a friend, who got it from the brewer, large sample. Hazy orange to amber color, medium frothy head. Aroma of caramel, bit sulphury yeast, slight spicy, hint of orange peel and licorice root, but not as much as I expected from earlier homebrew examples of the style. Slight sweet in taste, soft bitterness, caramel, slight metallic. Quite boring beer. According to my friend, the beer was much spicier (and better) from tap.

Tap @ In De Wildeman, sample size. Very dark, but not quite schwarz (brown-red hue). Light beige head, dense, thin layer retention. Aroma’s: light sweet, some roast, vanilla, licorice (zoethout). Retronasal it’s not too much, roasty, light red fruit. Flavor is light sweet, light roast, a little drop. Body is on the thin side. Finishes with increasing roast, light drop, light bitter. Clean and well crafted, but not very remarkable.
