Description

Bottle from tderoeck. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, beige foam. Sweet nose of caramel and dried fruit. Bitter hoppy finish. Not bad, but a Black IPA?

Black brown colour, firm beige head. Aroma of caramel, coffee, green apple and cacao. Flavour of caramel, cold coffee, sour apple and malts. Bit thin. Finish malts, coffee and caramel. Only a hint of hops, wondering if the label Black IPA is correct?
(From 75cL bottle @ ElMananaβs Massaman Chili tasting, Gent. Thanks for sharing, tderoeck!)

From tap at Moeder Lambic Original - the owner told me this is brewed very limitedly and proudly stated his keg was the last one around for the time being. Very thick and rocky, heavily lacing, stable, off-white head over a hazy, deep golden blonde beer, looks pretty. Aroma of acacia honey, tangelo, orange juice, ripe plum, pineapple, white bread, peach. Soft, vividly fruity, sweet onset of exotic fruits and apricot, smooth, bready and a bit caramelly, sourish accent adds refreshment, mineral touch, very florally and citrussy aromatic hop finish, spicy but not thoroughly bittering - a bit like in Troubadour Magma; this allows the estery and malty fruit sweetness to linger. One of the best Belgian IPAs I had so far.

Draught at Moeder Iambic SG. It pours gold with a small bubbly white head. The nose is soft, juicy, stewed orange, mango, peach, tinned fruit and candy. The taste is sweet, juicy, sticky, orange, tangerine, mango, apricot, tinned fruits, grassy bitterness, light and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.
