Description

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013. Lovely label. Very pale golden with close to no head. Smell is mellow citrus, touch sweet apples, sweet malts, almost dash of lemonade. Taste is citrus (bit lemonade-esque citrus), lightly bitter fruits, citrus peel, tad sweet malts & touch grains, BE yeast. Light bodied, fine carb. Just about as “hoppy” as their other beers, IPA seems like a completely random term to me & this one is the lesser ones of the 3 Triest beers, I tried @ the Festival. Perhaps the fact that this should be a British IPA of sort accounts for this but I have come to associate IPA’s with pronounced hop profiles.

Medium white, fine head, leaving some lace over veiled golden beer with a mossy sheen. Ureum-rich hops, cats’ pee (valerian), but also hyacint, spring flower. Herbal flavour, more yeast features. Dry finish. Light to medium bodied, bit slick, soft carbonation. Uuh... where are the hops? Only the nose telling that Target might not yield the target, and the taste that they need to be trebled.Earlier Rating: 2/4/2012 Total Score: 3.5Good yellowish, dense head over hazed metallic-golden beer. Some hops, and rincing soap - probably the glass. Served very cold, hence little aromas. Outspoken fresh hops’ flavour, bit herbal and insectoid, but straight and honest. Sweet honeyish malts ever present. Medium bodied, quite slick. Very well-balanced, which is far from evident in this kind of beer. Good!

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013. Lightly hazy golden with a white head. Nose carries light, soft citrus with a mellow yeasty side to it, light fruits. Taste is mellow floral, citrus, sweetish fruit, touch candy, herbs & spices, light grains. Light, easy to drink. USA hops but apparently this is meant to be more in the British side. Idd as mentioned, not a bad session beer comparable to a British cask bitter. Idd don’t come expecting an American style hoppy offering here. One of the finer ones tried at the festival.

Small white head; pale amber-copper beer. Nutty, and sweet smelling as rosewater. USA hops, amandine, frangipane, but SWEET. Light hoppy-rosewater flavour. Again suikerbonen met amandinepaste. Very light body, bit sticky if not really slick. Bit light, sweet. Misses a bit of hoppy bitterness to give it some bite. Come on, Marc, Centennial and Cascade...

No head, copper coloured, clear beer. Very spicy hops, floral, spring blossoms in the nose. Nice hoppy flavour, with a cookielike sweetness lurking behind. Quite slick, carbonation rounds everthing well off, as an afterthought. Spritzy beer, but a tad too slick and even just a bit too sweet to be refreshing as an IPA ought to be, IMO.
