Description

Bottle, 75cl. A dense, two-finger off-white head sits on top of a mostly clear, dark amber body. Some lacings. Dried fruits, some pleasant herbyness and some dark malts. Quite pleasant, but lacking some on complexity. The same can be said of the flavor. Dried fruits and some orange peel, with maltyness, some alcohol notes and a fine bitterness. Full-bodied and effervescent, with some bitterness in the end. Well, it lacks on complexity, but it’s tasteful and quite drinkable anyway. 111105

Think I had this at Kerstbierfestival Essen 2010. It said X-Mas Oak Aged. Dark brown color, small beige head. Ok smell, decent taste of malts, wood, vanilla and liquorice. Decent carbo as well. Re-rate at 2012 Kerstbierfestival Essen: Opaque dark brown color, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness and alcohol. Decent balance, medium body, medium carbonation. 7-4-7-3-14.

Huge, dense, off-white head over hazed but glowing orange beer. Overpowering catty hops, cat’s pee, valerian; citrus and passion fruit in the finish. More flowery hops, lunaria, but also again valerian, blackcurrant leaf, cat’s pee. Medium to well-bodied, quite slick, nice lingering hoppy-fruity flavour, stripped of most of the valerian. Something wrong, either with the hops used, either lightstruck.

Small but stable white head, over hazed orange-golden beer. Quite hoppy nose (EU or rather UK hops), straw. Taste however spells Nelson Sauvin all over the place! Slight sweetness, cakey, strenghtening warming up. Muscat grapes. Light, refreshing, well-carbonated. Very good try - a light version of the " Gendarme"? Txs to Stefaan!

Huge, very dense cream-coloured head with a pinkish-amber sheen over deep foxy-amber beer; some lace. Perfumed nose with lots of bubble gum & mint, really like childrens’ candy. Again aromatic/perfumy flavours, more complex than the nose, with caramel, faint vegetable, parsly, rosewater & amandine. Faint bitterish aftertaste, with more bubble gum. Quite slick, medium bodied. Aphids would certainly love the rosewater/amandine/bubblegum, but I’m less over the moon.
