Description
With a foundation in homebrewing in 1992, Paul Kavulak set about to experiment within a hobby that would prove both entertaining and, at times, refreshing. Over a period of roughly 13 years, and with the able assistance of his wife Kim, this activity led to the opening of the Nebraska Brewing Company’s brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, on November 17, 2007. A new production brewery and taproom were opened in January of 2014. Located on the south side of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.

On tap at Flying Saucer KC. Pours a clear gold with a touch of amber and a that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has notes of citrus and earthy grass with a light grain backbone. Flavor has a nice citrus hop note that is backed by a bit of sweet grains.

RBSG 2013. Lots of roasted malt, but far too boozy for my taste. A well made beer ruined by too much bourbon. Roasted grain and a heavypalate.

Bottle, 75cl, at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens. A brown one, almost clear, with a minimal sized off-white head. There’s caramel, dried fruits, some alcohol, pine cones, fluor tooth paste, mint notes and a faint roasted hint in the aroma. Full body, lightly warming and with a pleasant carbonation. There’s not much impact from the booze, neither in the aroma nor in the flavor. Lasting finish with a good bitterness. Wow, first Nebraska beer and it’s this good. Amazing. 130817

Bottle, peach tasting. Pours hazy golden, medium white head, good lacing. Aroma is light funk, fruity, lemon. Flavor is the same, strong woody astringence, zesty bitterness. A bit odd. Medium body. Fairly hot.

A fruity "belgian" aroma. Flavor is an odd mix of ipa bitterness and belgian sweetness with a dryness from the barrelaging. Color is cloudy orange with a white head.

Bottle courtesy of Ken1. Hazy orange with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, yeasty, fruity, white wine and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Very Belgian indeed. 160813

Cask with Chinook and Juniper at Sugar Maple. Filtered deep amber-tan. Creamy thick beige/off-white head. The juniper really shows up, quite a nice firkin. Mellow carbonation as to be expected, fluffy and right on. Full bodied but not overbearing. Excellent balance. Nice stuff.
